CHS Alumni Dr. Charles Shockley
Dr. Shockley founded the San Diego Supplier Development Council (SDSDC) in 1974 while working as the Marketing Specialist for the San Diego Business Development Center. Although the government offered to pay $35,000 that year as a budget for the Council, Shockley declined and chose to set it up as an all-volunteer organization instead. The Council, under the unique structure and concept of its founder, has made it one of the most successful organizations of its kind in the nation. Dr. Shockley is no stranger to success. He was born in Camden, New Jersey and attended Virginia State College (VSC) in Petersburg, Virginia where he earned a B.S. degree in biology. *To read more interesting facts about Dr. Shockley, click the title above. |
